For the first time since 2002, I have launched a new website.
That’s not entirely true. I revamped several websites, including that of what is now CIS Gulf South (then CIS of Greater New Orleans, with this blog.) I’ve helped design and launch several websites for my Dad and others. But this is the first time since the founding of The Blue Pyramid that I’ve started a new website for me.
It’s just a one-page website, clean lines, simple dispensation of basic information. It’s a website for me as a writer. It’s what seems to be expected in the writing community, from what I can tell. It’s called StoreyClayton.com, which some might take as an acknowledgment that writing is a business (gag). It’s mostly just because that’s the URL people would most expect to type in if they were looking for me.
Eventually, this may grow to include reprints or at least teaser previews of some of my writing. For now, it just includes the list, which also appears on The BP homepage in a bit more detail. There are several publications which are hard to read or kind of inaccessible online. I’ve even toyed with the idea of reading them aloud as a podcast, but that feels like a daunting amount of work on the verge of my fourth and busiest academic semester in this MFA program while I’m still shaking off a cold from Nuevo.
If nothing else, this feels like a place to start, or a next step, in joining the idiosyncratic fraternity of online writers. Huzzah!
Suggestions welcome.
