Barely South Review<\/a><\/i>, the literary journal of Old Dominion University’s Creative Writing program,\u00a0recently published Storey Clayton’s “Cars with Strangers<\/a>,” an excerpt from\u00a0his ridesharing memoir Driving for U:\u00a0Behind the Wheel of a New Orleans Uber<\/a><\/i>. While the print copy of the work<\/a> was available three months ago, the story was published online<\/a> within the last 48 hours.<\/p>\n

The ninth Uber excerpt and tenth short nonfiction work of Storey’s to be published since October, this essay connects Storey’s time driving for Uber to a late-night ride offered to a stranger at Waffle House, his own first Uber ride, and the infamous milk carton kids of the 1980s.<\/p>\n
